About the book

The year is not a straight line from January to December. It is a wheel that turns, with dark and light, sowing and harvest, feasting and rest. When you start following that wheel, autumn stops being something that hits you and becomes something you walk into with open eyes.

The Witch's Wheel of the Year takes you around all eight sabbats and the four seasons. You get the history behind each festival, where it comes from, when it falls and why it was kept at all, and you get a way to celebrate it that fits into an ordinary life with work and dinner to make.

For each sabbat there are correspondences, meaning colours, herbs, food and symbols, along with a ritual and a spell. At the end of the book there is a chapter on the seasonal altar, so you have a place in your home that turns with the year.
