The Wild Woman

You are not broken,
you are waking up

On women's impossible balancing act, the media that divides us, and the way home to the wild woman in you.

Let me say something you probably already know, but no one has said out loud lately: you cannot be everything, for everyone, all the time, and still have something left for yourself. It's not because you're not strong enough. It's because the task is impossible, and it always has been.

Once upon a time, the woman was the heart of the home.

She held the family together, the meals, the quiet evenings and the hard days. Her worth was not measured by how much she achieved, but by being there. Being the house's pulse, its memory, its warmth.

It was never easy. But it was one job. One role to stand in, a story she could recognise herself in.

That's no longer the case. And honestly, it's time we talked about it.

From one job to all jobs at once

Today you must be a mother, present, patient, creative, boundaried, but never too strict.
You must be a partner, listening, passionate, independent, but always available.
You must be homemaker and chef, preferably organic, preferably homemade, preferably Instagram-worthy.
You must be cleaner, chauffeur, secretary, and therapist, both for your children and for yourself.
You must be a friend, present for everyone else, even when you can barely find ten minutes for yourself.
And you must be a career woman, ambitious, competent, indispensable at work, without any of the above suffering.

And as if that weren't enough, you must also be beautiful. Slim. Sexy. Ageless. Calm on the outside, no matter what is thundering inside.

We went from one role to an entire orchestra, where we must play every single instrument ourselves, simultaneously, and preferably without anyone hearing how hard it is.

That's not balance. That's acrobatics. And nobody tells you that you're allowed to fall down every now and then.

The media feeding the divide

Once, women stood shoulder to shoulder because they could see each other's reality, the tired eyes, the messy hair, the honest struggle.

Today we only see each other's highlights.

It's easy to show the perfect meal, the tidy home, the slim body, the happy marriage, and hide the rest behind a filter. And now, with artificial intelligence, we can make even the unattainable look attainable. We can literally edit reality away.

So we compare our back stage to others' front stage. And every time we do, we feed a very specific feeling, what research calls shame, the voice that whispers "there's something wrong with me", as opposed to guilt, which just says "I did something wrong". Shame is more dangerous. Shame keeps us silent. And silence is exactly what the divide between women feeds on.

It's not your fault that you compare yourself. It's a system built to make you do exactly that, because an insecure woman is a good consumer.

When it can no longer be done

There comes a point, for many of us somewhere between the late 30s and late 40s, when the body and nervous system simply say stop.

It's no coincidence that it happens right here. The children are growing older and need a little less of your constant attention, and suddenly there's space to feel what's actually left of yourself. The hormones start to shift. The body you've been pushing for years starts to push back in ways you can no longer ignore. And somewhere inside, you've been accumulating years of saying yes when you meant no, of being "strong" when you needed to be held, of regulating everyone else's nervous system before your own.

It rarely shows up as one big breakdown. More often as a creeping emptiness. A tiredness that sleep doesn't fix. A feeling of being a stranger in your own life, even though it looks perfect from the outside. Irritability over things that used to be easy. Tears that come without warning. A voice inside asking, "is this really all there is?"

This is not a breakdown. It's a breakthrough. And if you're in that place right now, hear me: you are not broken. You are waking up.

What your inner wild woman is screaming for

Beneath all the roles, the mother, the wife, the career woman, the always-available friend, lives a woman you once were, before the world told you who you should be.

She hasn't gone. She's just been hushed, year after year, every time you chose what was expected over what you felt in your body.

She's not screaming for more to do. She's screaming for permission to simply be.

She wants to be felt, not perfected.
She wants to be heard, not explained away.
She wants to rest, without having to justify it.
She wants to be loved for who she is, not for what she achieves.

And here is the truth no one told us early enough: vulnerability is not the opposite of strength. It is courage itself. It takes more courage to say "I can't anymore" than to hold the mask up for one more day.

How you learn to listen to her again

You won't learn it by reading about it (though this is a start, you are reading right now). You learn it by slowly returning to your body and your nervous system's own signals, the same signals you have learned to ignore in order to function.

Start small. Ask yourself, several times a day, not what you should feel, but what you actually feel.

Give yourself permission to say one honest no per week. Not an explained, apologetic no. A clean, unconditional no.

Notice when you're comparing yourself, and ask: am I comparing my reality to someone else's highlights? Because then you know it's not a fair picture.

Find your way back to something you loved before you became "grown up" and "responsible". Your wild woman remembers, even if you don't.

Trust the discomfort. Restlessness, anger, sadness, these are not signs that something is wrong with you. They are your inner woman knocking, asking to be heard, like a nervous system that finally dares to push back once the threat has passed.

She is not your enemy, and she is certainly not dangerous. She is your most honest compass, the part of you that has never forgotten who you really are, no matter how many roles you have learned to play on top.

The way home

You don't need to succeed at being everything. You need to dare to become yourself again. That is actually the bigger project.

It is not a flaw that you are tired of performing. It is not a flaw that you can no longer find joy in living up to an ideal you never chose yourself. It is a sign that something genuine in you refuses to die quietly, and thank goodness for that.

It takes more than another conversation

Here is something I believe with my whole self: you are not just your story, your roles, or your CV. You are energy. You are life. You are love, in a body that is right now trying to find its way home to itself.

Most of what you call "you" was placed upon you when you were very small, by people who were doing their best with what they had. Label after label. Rule after rule about how a girl, and later a woman, should behave, look, feel, and perform. And somewhere along the way you forgot that you actually get to choose who you are.

That's why I don't believe the solution is just another coaching session or another round of talk therapy, even though both are valuable tools I work deeply with myself. I believe in something more grounded, and at the same time something larger. I believe we are connected, you, me, the earth, each other, through an energy that can't be captured in a spreadsheet or a diagnosis. And I believe the way home to yourself runs through the body, not only through the mind.

It's about reconnecting to your body, your breath, the stillness between thoughts, the nature that has never forgotten its own rhythm, and to the people around you, in a safe and genuine way. This is where the ego, all the masks and roles you have learned to carry, loosens its grip. And this is where you discover that you are everything and nothing at the same time. Free, if you allow yourself to be.

Your inner wild woman has been waiting patiently. She is still there. And she is ready to guide you home, to yourself, to your life, to what truly matters.

You don't have to do this alone. None of us do it best alone, no matter what we've been led to believe.

If you recognised yourself in these words, the creeping emptiness, the tiredness that won't go away, the feeling of being a stranger in your own life, it is not a coincidence that you are reading this right now. Through coaching, Imago-based relationship work, and a spiritual, grounded approach to body, breath, and energy, we find our way back together to the thread that connects your patterns today to the roots they grew from, and we find the way home to the woman you were before the world told you who to be.
